Burundi Visa for Spanish Citizens – Best Time to Apply

Do I have to send my passport to get a visa to Burundi? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will have to send your original passport, not a copy of it. The Burundi visa is stamped on one of your passport pages. Visas can not be processed without your original passport. Due to the importance of your passport, we suggest that you submit your application by a secure method, such as a courier.

1. International ProcedureThere is no consular representation of this country in Spain. The processing will be carried out by our correspondent abroad. International courier has an additional cost of 120.99 euros + VAT per order
2. PassportYou must send your original passport. The passport must:
   • Have a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of entry
   • Have at least one blank page for the visa
3. PhotographsYou have to attach two color photos. The photograph must:
   • Be original and printed on photographic paper
   • Be size 35mm by 45mm
   • Have white background
   • Have been taken from the front, without dark glasses, earrings, necklaces or any garment that prevents the identification of the person
   • Have been taken in the last 6 months
   • You should not wear white clothing, only colored clothing
4. Business cover letterYou must provide an original business cover letter from the applicant’s Spanish employer. The letter must be printed on letterhead that shows the postal address of the company in Spain. You can use our sample business cover letter which can be found here .

   • Be written in French or English
5. Letter of InvitationInvitation letter from the company to visit by the applicant. The letter must:
   • Be printed on letterhead
   • Include the applicant’s full name and passport number
   • Specify the purpose and itinerary of the trip
   • Specify the number of entries and duration of the requested visa
   • Be signed and sealed
6. Travel reservationProof of travel reservation. This should be presented as:
   • A copy of the round trip flight reservation

   OR

   • Travel insurance or proof of travel issued by a travel agency

   • A copy of the DNI or identity card and an invitation letter from the inviting person in Burundi. This letter must include the full name of the invitee, address, telephone
7. Financial solvency testEvidence of financial solvency. You must attach:
   • A recent copy of the bank statement

   • The recent bank statement of the inviting person and an acceptance of financial responsibility from the applicant
8. Travel assistance insuranceOriginal health insurance certificate. The certificate must:
   • Indicate the name, address and telephone number of the foreign company or the international assistance company
   • Indicate the full name of the applicant
   • Indicate that the policy is valid for that destination and the duration of the entire trip
   • Specify that the policy covers the repatriation of the applicant
   • Indicate a medical coverage of at least 10,000 Euros
9. Yellow Fever VaccinationCopy of the yellow fever vaccination certificate

   It is a requirement for entry to the country that the vaccine has been administered a minimum of 10 days before entry. However, it is possible to start visa processing immediately after obtaining the vaccination certificate.
