When is the best time to apply for my visa to Canada?
Canada Visa for Spanish Citizens | The best time to apply for your Canadian visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. However, if you do not have much time, we may be able to process your visa with a faster service as long as the consulate allows it.
Do I have to send my passport to get a visa to Canada? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will have to send your original passport, not a copy of it. The Canada visa is a sticker or stamp that is stamped on one of the pages of your passport. Visas can not be processed without your original passport. Due to the importance of your passport, we suggest that you submit your application by a secure method, such as a courier.

- Requirements for E-visaThe Government of Canada has replaced its system of obtaining visas on arrival with that of issuing electronic visas. The ETA is an authorization from the Government to enter Canada. It is the equivalent of a visa but no label or stamp is put on the passport.
To request it it is necessary:
- Have a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months upon entry and with a blank visa page
- Check sufficient funds
- Have flight reservation showing entry and exit
- Have documentation that proves the purpose of the trip
- Have the required documentation for the next destination
- Comply with all the requirements specified in the electronic visa order form

- Visa ConditionsApplicants who have a criminal record or have been deported from any country are not eligible for a visa waiver and should contact Canadian authorities for more information.
- Arrival by land or seaPeople traveling by land or sea do not need to have an ETA to enter the country.
