Details explanation on how to prepare effectively for any exams

1. Start your preparations ahead of time; Leave your studies
Until the last minute maybe disappointing/dangerous ….. Give yourself adequate time to study

While some students do appear to flourish at the last minute “cramming”, it is far accepting that for most students, this is not the best way to prepare well for an assessment. Set a schedule for your studies. Write down how many exams you have and the days on which you have to sit for them. Then organize your study correspondingly. You might want to give some subject more study time than others, so find a balance that you are more pleasant with

2. Keep your Study Place Organized

Make sure you have enough space to spread your textbooks and notes. Do you have enough light? Is your chair comfortable? Are your computer games out point of interest?

Try to get rid of all the distractions, and make sure that you feel as comfortable and able to focus as possible. For some People, that can mean almost total silence; for others, background music helps. Some of us need everything very neat and organized to concentrate while others flourish in a more overloaded environment. Think about what works for you and take the time to do it right.

3. Use flowcharts and Charts.

Visual aids can be very helpful during revision. At the beginning of a topic, try to write down everything that you already knows about a topic – and then highlight where the try to write down everything that you already know about the topic – and then highlight where the gaps lie. Closer to the test, condense your revisions in one-sided diagrams. Getting your ideas below in this short format can help you quickly remember everything you need to know during the exam.

4. Practice More Past Question

One of the most effective ways to prepare for exams is to practice the past questions already set on the course. Practicing on old question paper on the subject matter give you more insight into how the exams are been set. This helps you get used to it format of the questions, and if you have time yourself, it can also be good practice to make sure you spend the right time required for each section.

5. Explain your answers to others.

Parents and small brothers and sisters do not have to be annoying for examination time! Use it to your advantage. Explain an answer to a question to them. This will help you to make it clear in your head and also, highlight all areas where you need to do more work.

6. Study with some groups of friends.

Meet with friends for a study session. You may have questions they have the answers and vices Versa. As long as you make sure you stay focused on the topic for an agreed time, this can be one of the most effective ways to challenge yourself.

Studying alone at times can be so boring especially for some calculation courses if you find it difficult to solve a particular problem and there’s no one to explain it to you.

7. Take regular breaks.

While you may think that it is best to study for as many hours as possible, this can actually be counterproductive. If you were training for a marathon, you would not try to run 24 hours per day! Furthermore, for long-term retention of knowledge, regular breaks really help.

Everyone is different, so develop a study routine that works for you, If you learn better in the morning, start early before a break at midday. Or if you are more productively at night, take a bigger break earlier in the daytime so you can stay awake at night. Do not try to feel guilty if you enjoy the sunshine instead of being bent over your textbooks. Think of vitamin D as it’s important for a healthy brain!

8. Snack on ‘brain boosting food’

Keep out of junk food! You can feel like you deserve it to treat, or that you do not have time to cook, but what you eat can really have an impact on the energy levels and the focus. Try to keep your body and brain well heated by brain-boosting foods that have proven to help concentration and remembrance, such as fish, nuts, seeds, yogurt, and blueberries.
The same is true on the day of the test

10. Drink plenty of water.

Remember drinking more water will keep your brain well hydrated which is very important for your brain to work best. Make sure you keep drinking plenty of water during your revision and also on the day of the test.

11. Get more Facts on the subject from a specialist in the subject/course.

Nobody knows everything. The essence of going to school is to get knowledge from a more funded source. So in preparing for each exam, get close to someone who can help you with what you are in doubt.

Some lecturers would be glad to give you, even more, details explanation on a topic when you go to them than they would have explained it in the general classroom. If there’s a particular topic you don’t understand, meet someone who has a better understanding of the topic and gets more facts.

12. Pray as if you have never read and read as if you have never prayed!

A popular saying goes thus;

The heavens help those who help themselves.

Have you ever heard people forget everything they’ve read during the tests, or have it not happened to you?
When you pray, you have recognized the author of wisdom and remembrances; He is ready to give you when you ask.

John 14:26 says;

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

So if you recognized GOD who is the owner of wisdom, he shall surely help you to remember all that you studied in the exams hall.
