Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study History and International Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above Universities include;

History/Govt and any other two subjects from Arts & Social Science.

O’Level Requirements


The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study History and International Studies;

You require; Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Geography, Government/History.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. KSU, DELSU and UNIUYO credit pass in Geography is not compulsory but accepts any three other Arts or Social Science subjects.

2. AAU requires History and at least a pass in Science subject.

3. PLSU, UNIOSUN and UNIJOS – credit in Geography is not compulsory.

4. BU and AJAYI require credit passes must include English Language, History or Government, and any other three subjects Arts or Social Science subjects. Geography is not compulsory.

5. EKSU requires History, one Arts and any other subject.

6. UNIOSUN requires Five ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English language, Government or History or any other social sciences and Arts subjects in SSCE.

7. JABU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in Government or History and any other Arts or Social Science subjects including a pass in Mathematics.

8. UNIILORIN require Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, History/Govt. plus any three others Arts or Social Science subjects.

9. UNIUYO requires credit passes in History or Government, English Language and any two of the following: Literature, Economics, Geography and French.

10. JSU – A credit pass in Geography shall not be compulsory but accepts any three Arts or Social Science subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study History and International Studies, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require; 1. Two ‘A’ level passes/NCE (Upper Credit) in History, Govt and any other related subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNICAL accepts NCE (credit) in History/Government/Social Studies. Does not accept IJMB.

2. AJAYI accepts NCE/ND (merit passes in History and Government.

3. LASU accepts:
(a) ‘A’ Level Passes in History/Government OR NCE (Merit Passes) in History/Government, Political Science, Social Studies, ND in a Related Discipline (Upper Credit), two Passes at the GCE/HSC ‘A’ Level, Five ‘O’ Level credit Passes in other subjects at the SSCE or its equivalent which must include History or Government.
(b) ND (Upper Credit ) in a related discipline.

4. AJAYI accepts two ‘A’ level passes (or equivalents) in History or Government plus three other ‘O’ level credit passes.

5. LASU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes in SSCE/NECO OR GCE at not more than two sittings to include: English Language and History or Government plus a good performance in the UTME which must include English, History or Government.

6. EKSU requires another Art subject apart from History/Government.

7. UNIOSUN requires ‘A’ level passes in History or Government. Accepts NCE, one of which must be History combination.

8. UNILORIN accepts:
a) Government in lieu of History.
b) NCE (Merit Pass) History/Government Major.

9. UNIUYO accepts:
a. Passes in two A Level subjects including History or Government.
b. NCE with merits in 3 subjects including History or Government..

BUK UTME/Departmental Cut off Marks for 2019/2020 Academic session

BUK UTME Departmental Cut off MarksThe Bayero University, Kano, (BUK) Zaria, Post UTME and Departmental Cut off Mark ,and Point for the 2019/2020 Academic session officially released Online by Jamb, for the candidates who chose Bayero University, Kano as their first choice University in the 2019, Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and made the cut-off marks are eligible for screening. Cut off mark is an agreed score set by a particular institution as a basic of admitting students into the department of study.  This score is usually accredited to candidates based on their performance in a particular examination. However, students who have scored above the required cut off mark will be given admission and preferentially treated in admission process above those who have met the exacts cut off mark.

JAMB Fixed Cut-off Mark

Jamb fixed cut off mark for BUK is 180.

You might ask questions like: I had 180 and above but was not still given the admission to study my desired course?

Mostly any Candidates with higher scores are first considered in admission basics candidates with lower scores though might meet the cut off mark of 180 may likely not be admitted. In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted.

Departmental Cut off Mark

The Bayero University, Kano does not really have a specific cut off mark for courses. However, candidates who have scored a minimum of one 180 in UTME examination is eligible to apply for admission into any of their choice courses.

(6) REDEEMER’S requires Five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects in Social Sciences.

(7) AAU requires five credit passes including English, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History and any other subject. AAU can accept History/Government. AAU also accepts Mathematics

(8) WESTERN-DEL (for Business Administration) requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Accounts, one other Social Science subject and any one other subject of choice.

(9) BELLS requires a pass in Physics for Business Computing and Information Technology.

(10) UNICAL requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.

(11) KWASU:
(a) For Accounting requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and any other social science subject.
(b) For Business Administration requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics,Economics and any other two social science subjects preferably Business Studies/Commerce or English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two social science subjects.

(12) GO accepts
(a) For Business Administration and Marketing credit pass in Commerce in lieu of Economics.
(b) For Public Administration five SSCE credit passes in English, Mathematics, Government or History or Commerce and two other subjects.

(13) UMYUK accepts
(a) Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
(b) For Business Administration, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any two Social Science subjects.
(c) For Public Administration, five credit passes or its equivalent in English, Mathematics, Government or History and any other two subjects from Arts or Social Science in not more than two sittings.

(14) FUNAAB requires two relevant credit passes from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Government or Geography.

(15) NDA requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Accounting and two other subjects from Commerce, Geography, History, French, Arabic and Government.

(16) UNIBEN (for Insurance) – A pass in Further Mathematics is an advantage.

(17) UNIBEN (for marketing) requires five credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other subjects at not more than two sittings

(18) BABCOCK – A pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit pass in Accounting or Commerce.

(19) MOUA requires two other credit passes from Government,CRK and Geography.
