Humana offers health insurance for businesses of all sizes, including small businesses with less than 50 employees. Employers have a variety of policies to choose from when choosing health insurance for their employees.

Medicare and Medicaid

Humana Medicare coverage can be purchased for individuals who are already eligible for Medicare. When choosing between Humana Medicare Advantage policies, consider the provider’s network options. Humana has three different vendor options to choose from:

Medicare supplement plans from A to N are offered by Humana; however, not all policies will be available in your state. To be eligible for the additive policy, you must first be registered in Parts A and B and be over 65 years of age.

In most states, all plans are standardized to provide basic benefits, but each may offer additional health insurance benefits. For example, Plan G provides additional costs for Part B, whereas Plan A does not cover these costs.

Medicaid insurance is also available through Humana. Although Medicaid is a public health plan, some states choose to partner with private health insurance companies to provide additional benefits to their customers. In this case, Humana offers extras such as wellness programs and over-the-counter services. However, Humana Medicaid is only available in two states: Kentucky and Florida.

Dental and vision insurance

Dental insurance from Humana is available in three levels of coverage: dental savings plus, prudence value, and dental care plus. Below is a summary of the costs and benefits of each of these policies:

The main difference between these policies is the supplier network. While Dental Savings Plus is the cheapest policy among Humana’s offerings, it only offers a discount when you visit the dentist online. On the other hand, Preventive Value and Preventative Plus offer more flexibility for the network.

Vision insurance can also be purchased through the Humana website, but only one plan is available: the Vision Focus Plan. This policy has a monthly premium of $14.99 with a one-time subscription of $35. Humana vision insurance helps you pay for services such as routine eye exams, contact lenses, and frames.

Member benefits and resources

When you become a member of Humana, you get access to their online portal, Humana. It is available online via the web but can also be accessed via the company’s app. You can use this platform to pay your premiums, find a doctor, and even find additional information such as drug pricing guides.

In addition to the Humana platform, the company offers all members access to the Go365 wellness program. This program allows members to save on their monthly health insurance premiums by participating in healthy activities such as exercise or eating fruit and vegetables.

Customer reviews and complaints

Humana’s customer ratings are slightly below average compared to other health insurance companies. Apart from that, the biggest complaint among members is the slow customer service. All of this is supported by Humana’s National Association of Insurance Commissions (NAIC) Complaints Index of 1.82. A value close to two indicates that the company receives an above-average number of complaints about its size.

Humana, on the other hand, is an accredited company according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which means that while the company has received complaints, it is actively trying to resolve unresolved issues with its policyholders.
