The Digital States Program ensures that Nigerian youths are equipped with digital and life skills that can reduce the digital divide and foster economic growth by exposing them to digital tools and innovation that can redefine the future of their chosen career. This training will cover residents in Abia, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Borno, Ekiti, Katsina, Kaduna, Imo, Nasarawa, Niger and Oyo states only and implemented by Wootlab Innovations.

Vacant Positions

  • Must be a business owner or entrepreneur
  • Must be Graduate, NYSC Member or non-graduates
  • Student
  • Unemployed

Requirement

To be able to apply for NITDA Empowerment program, you must have attended one of the following:

  • Vocational
  • Primary School
  • Secondary School
  • University, Polytechnic or College of Education
  • Post Graduate Degree is also accepted
  • Have National Identification Number NIN.

Age Range:

  • 16 – 20
  • 21 – 25
  • 26 – 28
  • 29 – 35

Digital Skills Class Selection:

Kindly select your preferred class based on your existing knowledge of digital skills, access to required work tools and your expectation from the training. Below is the description of training content to help you choose effectively.

IT Management of Productivity Tools

“Productivity tools” refers to the software that people use to create and produce documents, databases, charts, and graphs. For many organizations and corporations, this skill set is a necessity. Skills taught include; Microsoft 365 tools, communicate online. (Recommended for students, employees in the workforce, beginners in the use of digital tools)

Understanding Digital Marketing for Entrepreneurial skills – Skills taught include how to build your business, creating and exploring the market etc. (Recommended for business owners and entrepreneurs)

Basics of Content Creation and career development – Skills taught include CV writing skills, interview preparation, how to find your dream job etc. (Recommended for students and jobseekers)

You have a choice to select up to two classes. However, each student will be placed in one class. Each class has a limit capacity, therefore students will be placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Applicants will only be considered if they submit an online application, attach a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV), and other necessary support documents.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the training and empowerment are:
• to facilitate and enhance Digital Inclusion among the participants;
• to enable participants become competent in innovatively employing the tools of technology to enhance living and in discharge of their job requirements;
• to give effect to he implementation of Strategic Roadmap and action plan (SRAP) initiatives focusing on Digital literacy, Digital innovation and entrepreneurship;
• give an insight on a series of IT tools that implicitly support creative and innovative learning;
• to enhance participants’ Digital literacy, internet research skills and presentation skills.

EXPECTED OUTCOME

At the end of the training, participants will be provided with working tools and should be able to:
• use IT in creating sustainable employment;
• empower 30 people living with disability with digital tools.
• enable persons living with disability become self reliant after the digital empowerment.
• be self-reliant.

Requirement

The program is open to all Nigerians that are living with any form of disability residing within the South South. It would focus on the clusters of Persons Living with Hearing and/or Speech Impairment, Persons Living with Visual Impairment, and the Physically Challenged Persons.
